To get a feel for the event, visit our YouTube Channel and/or Facebook page.
All proceeds from the event will be going to our friends at Love Wildlife, to support the protection of slow lorises. The funds will primarily go towards helping to maintain their slow loris rehabilitation centre located in Chonburi, the DNP (Department of National Parks, Wildlife, and Plant Conservation) Bang Phra Waterbird Conservation Center, where research and education on slow lorises also takes place. The centre currently houses over 70 confiscated lorises that need constant care and support.

For the academic year of 2017-2018, Mixed Up! aims to host Mixed Up! 2018: Concrete Jungle with more partner schools, and an even stronger involvement from the greater Bangkok community. In addition to raising awareness about the plight of slow lorises, Mixed Up! brings together musicians, students, parents, staff, food vendors, and beyond, centralizing passion for a common cause.

Mixed Up! in the past...
Mixed Up! has been an annual tradition at NIST International School almost 10 years.
The first-ever Mixed Up! was held in 2008, and was a showcase of NIST musicians in secondary school, including soloists, rappers, DJs, bands - you name it. It was a chance for the community to enjoy a night of great music, and for students of all year levels to 'mix it up'. In 2013, Mixed Up! began to branch out to other international school in the Bangkok region, expanding the Mixed Up! network and community. The event brought together even more talented, like-minded students, and by 2014, the event worked it way towards becoming a battle-of-the-bands. Since, Mixed Up! has evolved into a service-based project, linking up with the Youth Ecological Network (YEN), launching, Mixed Up: Call of the Wild (2014). YEN worked closely with Love Wildlife Foundation to help advocate for the environment. Over the years, Mixed Up! has focused specifically on the plight of Slow Lorises, through directly supporting the Slow Loris Conservation Program. Maintaining the heart of Mixed Up!, the event continues to foster a sense of community, by showcasing talented musicians from various international schools in Bangkok every year. |
